Click on the SIGN IN link in the top right-hand corner to access your Student Dashboard. Once you're signed in, you should see the course titles listed under the heading My Courses.

Plan to spend 5-7 hours to complete Beyond Board Basics, plus 1 hour to review materials in the Resource Library.

To access the course you'll need a reliable internet connection and device with a web browser application with a PDF plugin. There are additional features to print worksheets or email yourself electronic notes, so we also recommend having a connection to a printer and having an email application on your device.

We recommend using a computer or tablet with larger display to complete the course. The small display on a phone will make reading and clicking on buttons somewhat difficult. However, the course is fully compatible for mobile devices.

This course is available using the Thinkific e-learning platform. In order to make sure Thinkific runs well on your device, we recommend that you use one of the following browsers: (for desktop computers and laptops) Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari; (for tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices) iOS Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet.

These courses are available to registered candidates with Volunteer Ottawa's Diversity in Leadership Ottawa program. Candidates are automatically enrolled after completing the application process, which includes a phone interview. You can register as a DLO candidate using the "DLO HOME" link at the bottom of the page.

All lessons (including the Welcome lessons) must be completed before you can receive your certificate. Check your progress in the course using the course navigation pane on the left-hand side of the screen, and you'll likely find an incomplete lesson. Once you've completed all the lessons, a button will display at the top of the navigation pane.
